Hi to cut to the chase i dont know whats wrong with me. This morning i collapsed in town and ended up in hospital for most of the day but they won’t know anything for a while.

I have been feeling incredibly depressed of late. I have had terrible insomnia for the past year (well most of my teenage years but not as bad) and was put on valium. i came off it about 2 months ago after abusing it (i overdosed often just so i didn’t have to live with my thoughts) and thought it best i just come off…..anyway i don’t even know if this is connected but just for background information.

since ive come off my sleep has generally been good, too good infact, i have slept far too much. it seems to be worse after stress. i slept 30 hours straight last week and have slept other long times after stressful incidents.

My other symptoms include even lower heart rate than usual (i am a keen runner), hand and knee shakes, muscle spasms in my legs and feet and of course collapsing today. i don’t know whats going on.

i don’t expect a full diagnosis as my symptoms are quite general, however sleeping 30 hours staright is not normal to me, has anyone known anything like it? especially since i have such a history of sleeplessness?

thanks for your time, i really appreciate it,
GSTOKES

oh im 18 btw if that is significant

Hi,

You should really try this,

I’ve been suffering from insomnia since having to deal with several personal issues that all sprung up in the past two years. Someone recommended the use of "alpha rhythms". Its an ancient treatment using subliminal sound that actually makes your brain relax. Anyway I found a hypnotherapist that utilizes this. I believe she is the only one. I thought this was a lot of New Age BS, as I don’t really buy into all that stuff, but I was desperate. It really worked!!!. I download it its about an hour long and it helped me tremendously. She whispers to you and the sound rhythms clear your mind. Consider it the best bedtime story you’ve ever had. :). Not only did I sleep it was restful, as I now feel great in the morning. Just FYI.
