Oh heart, I went through a similar thing as you. I "hated" when people said sleep when the baby sleeps - we insomniacs just can't do that. On top of it all, my son wasn't a good sleeper - he would sleep 20 min, then be up for three hours. I think I "lasted" two months, then my husband just absolutely had to do the night feedings and get up with our son, because I just couldn't function during the day. It was better for my husband to have less sleep and be able to function okay at work, so I could be totally attentive to our son during the day.
I don't have a fix for you... but that it will get better. Don't worry about cleaning the house, etc. - this is not the time to be house-proud. That's something your husband can be doing to help catch up.

You should tell your boyfriend to cook for himself so you can get some rest...I don't think you should get a job when you have a 6 week old baby..My son is 13 monthz and I dont even wanna leave him at home w/ someone else.

As the father of five I understand your problem. First off make your baby legitimate. Make b/f marry you so that you will no longer be living in what should be SHAME. Enough soap boxing.

MELATONIN is a natural sleep aid available over the counter that has none of the side effects. Ask your local druggist

You poor thing! I can relate! I have an 8 month old and am a stay at home mom, so I do most of the baby duties and all middle of the night stuff. I think you should try to go to your Dr. and see if they can help you with your insominia, but if you can't (which is understandable with all that's going on, etc.), try taking 2 Tylenol PMs about an hour before you get your baby ready for bed. Hopefully it'll make you drozy enough to doze off, but it doesn't knock you out like most sleep aids. Best of luck, girl! :)
