I am not sure if this change in my eyes is due to recurring insomnia or just due to genetics (when I sleep well my eyes tend to be larger like my mother’s and when I don’t they tend to be smaller like my father’s). Sometimes these changes happen regardless of sleep. Any clues?

Its not the shape of youe eyeball that changes due to lack of sleep, but sometimes the separation between your top and bottom eyelid appears to be narrower when you are fatigued. This is called you palpebral aperture, and it always looks smaller when people are tired as you do not have as much energy to lift your upper lid.
