natural and cheap sleep remedies?
02 Apr 2010
for a few months i have been having problems sleeping. it started when i had asthmatic bronchitis and couldnt sleep well because i would wake up in the middle of the night not being able to breathe and it kept me up late. lately i dont get tired until the sun comes out in the morning. i usually fall asleep between 7 and 8 am and dont wake up till late afternoon. i cant get anything done if im sleeping all day. if i try to go to bed earlier i just lay there for hours and hours and hours not being able to sleep. ive tried listening to relaxing music and closing my eyes and relaxing my muscles and meditation.but it hasnt helped. i am under alot of stress so thats probably part of it. im 19 and supporting myself …barely so i cant afford to go to a doctor or any prescriptions. i was wondering if anyone knows any natural sleep remedies that are inexpensive that might help. such as herbs or hot teas or anything. i just really need a normal sleep schedule again. any suggestions are appreciated. thank you.
ty again to anyone who made suggestions? and why does sleeping with a window open help? ive never heard that before.

Your body is out of synch with the clock time, but you can correct it. There is a substance that you can buy at a pharmacy very cheaply that will help to get you to sleep. The drug is benadryl, which is an antihistamine and is also used as a sleep aid. My wife and I use it every night. Benadryl is eliminated from the blood stream fairly fast, so you won’t be drowsy from the benadryl after 7 or 8 hours of sleep.
Benadryl is a brand name but you can buy the same substance under generic brand names at Walmart, Walgreens or other such places. I buy mine at Sam’s Club. Benadryl comes in 25 mg pills. My wife takes one pill, but I take 2, Take it a few minutes before you go to bed, with several ounces of water. I’ve read that it’s OK to take up to 4 pills, but that is way too much for me. Try one first, then 2 if needed.

Try some Valerian root tea. There is a tasty one from the Yogi brand called bedtime or something like that. I like it.. I get really tired from it.. it takes at least 30min to set in. It’s very peaceful. Good luck fixing your sleeping habits.

The best: melatonin. Also, try skull cap tea.
