Insomnia?

Bella asked:
I’m 14, almost 15, and I have a severe case of insomnia. It’s been like this for a couple of years now. My mom doesn’t want me to take medications because she’s afraid I’ll get addicted. I’ve tried almost everything and but nothing works. Help!
I don’t drink milk.

Because you’re a teenager, it’s possible that your circadian rhythm is out of whack (longer than 24 hours). Your parents probably expect you to go to sleep at certain time, but because your cycle is different, you can’t sleep. After a while, you’re completely out of sync with the rest of world. This is very common with teens.
As you grow older, the circadian rhythm tends to even out, although it’s never exactly 24 hours.

Insomnia can be caused by other conditions such as stress, menopause, depression, anxiety, or old age. Sleep problems like sleep apnea, addictions like alcoholism, and using too much caffeine can also cause insomnia.
Milk and Honey - A cup of warm milk sweetened with honey should be taken before going to bed. Take it everyday.

I’m an expert on insomnia. But I need more information. Do you just have trouble falling asleep? If that’s the case, there are three new NON-HABIT FORMING medications that will help you fall asleep. So you can show your mom this. In fact, she should go to the doctor with you to hear HIM/her say that these are not habit-forming. They are Ambien CR, Lunesta, and Rozeren. Your doctor will know which is best for you. if your insomnia is more severe, (like if you only get 1 or 2 hours a night, and you always ache from tiredness), please E-mail me. I can help you. Good luck. I have your name, so I’ll know your case.

I know this isn’t an answer, but I’m also 14 (15 in two days) and I’m on the same boat. I just asked a question about it and I’m getting a lot of the same things about sleeping patterns and all that. I’ve been to the clinic with my mother and I hear the same thing over and over, as you probably have too.
I know I don’t have a good answer for you, but if you need to talk I’ll be around.
My sn is chellycheekzz
Good luck with your insomnia.
