I suffer with insomnia and restless legs and prior to becoming pregnant i took tablets to help wih these but obvs i cant take them now and dispite feeling more tired that i’ve ever felt ( which is going some as i have chronic fatigue syndrome as well) i cant sleep, i’m getting maybe 1-2 hours a night and its killing me. Have tried hot baths, milky drinks, sleep cones, glowing sleep mask……. Would love to know if anyone knows of any safe alternitives. Thanks p.s i’m 8 weeks
I havent used anything for fear of harming the baby and my gut feeling is to probably stick with that. i dont mind the sleepless nights when the baby is there but getting used to no sleep 7 1/2 months in advance seems a bit radical. I’ve got my midwife appointment in a week so will talk to her then. Thanks for all your suggestions, unfortunatley have tried lavender and antihistamine type tablets previously (when not pregnant) and they havent worked. Looks like i’ll have to put up and shut up.lol x

Dont use anything when you are this early on. You will be taking a massive risk of harming your Baby. It hasnt even developed any organs yet!

See it through because sorry to be harsh, there will be plenty more sleepless nights & restless legs to come in the Pregnancy.

Please dont risk your poor baby by taking serious drugs so early on. Do some hypnotherapy or relaxation techniques.

    My doctor told me tylenol pm was safe. It might help you sleep… also benadryl is safe for pregnancy and will make you drowsy.

    my doctor gave me Hydroxyzine. All it is, is antihistamine. This is a prescription drug, and your doctor won’t prescribe you a drug that would hurt you or your baby.

    ive got exactly the same thing. These tablets available are not always safe so i had to try Lavender oil on my pill. Put it everywhere maybe about 30 minutes before you go to bed. Or you could sprinkle some and lay there inhaling it deeply. It supposed to make you drowsy.

    Lavander is what i used, Iused lavander bath oils, candels , put the scent of the oils on my illow and it realxed me so much i would drift off to sleep, good luck :)
