So, I have insomnia and a lot of times I end up not falling asleep at night. What would be the best natural remedy for this? And is it okay to miss some nights of sleep If you function normally?

- Try taking 3 mg melatonin 6-7 hours before bedtime. You can find it in the vitamin aisle.
- Drink chamomile tea before bedtime
- Exercise during the day, but NOT at night
- Read for 30 minutes before going to bed
- Do not use the computer an hour before bed
- Avoid caffeine, especially in the afternoon and evening
- Try to fall asleep for 20 minutes. If you can’t, get up and do something calming for 10 minutes. Then try again for 20 minutes. Do this until you fall asleep.

Missing sleep is not okay. A person needs 8 or 9 hours of sleep every night or else they have a sleep deficit. When you have a sleep deficit you don’t live a full life - you miss out on a lot because despite what you think, you’re not functioning at 100%. This is putting yourself at a huge risk for accidents and health problems. I don’t know how you function normally if you’re missing a lot of sleep. If you’re not even tired and you’re missing a lot of sleep, that’s a totally different story…do you have a lot of energy and just can’t sleep, like you don’t even need to?

Extract about 30 grams of the milk from the poppy seeds (Papaver somniferum) and mix this milk with an adequate amount of sugar. Take this once in a day especially after dinner, when preparing to sleep. This remedy is one of the effective home remedies for insomnia.

Proper sleep of at least 6 hours is needed everyday. Once and twice if u miss it ,the stored energy or the hormone Adrenaline supplies the energy required for everyday work. However chronicle insomnia can lead to fatal diseases.
Drink sufficient water, try to keep yourself stress free and for suggestions can go through

See a psychologist because lack of sleep is a big symptom of anxiety. It is ok to miss sleep, but not too good for extended periods. Again, getting a bit of advice about how to work on anxiety and/or stress will help your sleep routine improve - it’s called "sleep hygeine" (Google it)
