k so i jus have … k so i jus have been pescribed this, 10mgs did not put me to sleep an this was with me also taking 1mg of xanax an hour or so before hand… an i stayed up… is 10mgs a low dose? i had no hallucinations it felt like takin alot of benzos mabey… jus wondering if anyone has the same effect from it. ill try it again tonight see what happens, i do not want to get messed up from this i jus need sleep, an wouldnt mind seein what else the drug dose to me.

Hi flowerlove, im a … Hi flowerlove, im a substance misuse worker and dependence to these drugs is common, and nasty, i dont know what dose you take probably 10mg so you probably need to alternate between 5mg an 10mg nightly for a couple of weeks then go down to 5mg for a few months then 2.5 it has to be as gradual as possible but it can be done and its less severe than benzo withdrawal, but maybe a sedative anti-depressant like Mirtazapine towards the end would be useful. take care
similar thing … similar thing happened to me on ambien. i’ve been on it for over 6 years and cannot sleep without it. i’ve gone sleepwalking, wild hallucinations (fuzzy people throwing me a party) drinking crown royal. very scary for the person i awoke witnessing it. i’d really LOVE to get off it but thinking it might me impossible without some sort of alternative.

doc i used zolpidem … doc i used zolpidem and i found that it made things look like they were alive or moving! i remember once i took a lot of zolpidem a while after ritalin and i was looking at the end of a cigarette thinking there were little people going to tell me the future in it! i also remember seeing things walk off the ground! scary drug, you feel more dis inhibited than you do with alcohol while taking zolpidem(stillnoct as we call it in ireland)

Halcion may have … Halcion may have been taken off the market but triazolam is everywhere. The discomforts of triazolam discontinuation are mild compared with zolpidem. The depersonalization and paranoia are unbearable; I have found however that gabapentin 900mg at bedtime and 300mg bid, add propanolol 40mg bid if EKG tests show no abnormalities, and benadryl 25mg as needed, is a good way to combat the panic of zolpidem withdrawal. I think the gabapentin may afford some protection against seizures…(?) Thanks!!

My psychiatrist … My psychiatrist switched me from Halcion (triazolam) to Ambien (zolpidem) saying the risk of dependency was lower. I have to admit - Ambien discontinuation is far worse and longer than Halcion and I’m dependent on Ambien physically and psychologically, meaning if I stop taking it I feel psychotic and begin to panic, sweat, and shake. Halcion withdrawal lasts a day at most. My personality breaks down for a week if I take Ambien every night for more than a month.
I’m in my mid … I’m in my mid twenties and have had serious sleep troubles since high school. I’ve been on Ambien 10mg for about 7 years now. It’s the only thing that has allowed me to get a decent night sleep. I’ve tried trazodone, antihistamines, and even anti-psychotics (i.e. seroquel) I’m sure my body is “dependent” on the zolpidem but I don’t know what else I can do. Any recommendations would be appreciated!
