I have tried all the otc stuff, all the tea’s, sleepytime valerian tea etc. Valerian root capsules 450 mg, as many as 3or4 of those, melatonin tabs, tried mixing some of the above together, with no luck, warm baths before i go to bed, I have tried everything, and i have determined that I’m going to have to take a prescription med of some kind for good sound sleep. Can anyone tell me what (prescription) meds has worked for you in the past ?
I had a lot of luck with Ambien. It does not make you feel sleepy. You have to go to bed when you take it and basically, it calms your brain long enough for you to fall sleep. I felt a little groggy in the morning and had some double vision when I tried to stay up and watch tv after taking it. The side effects weren’t oo bad, especially compared to the side effects of not sleeping. I ask for it specifically when my sleep gets too wacky for the melatonin to work.
