Insomnia cure can be permanent. Insomnia is caused by imbalance of the 5 organs system. Insomnia is a sleep disorder that is characterized difficulty in falling and/or staying asleep. Insomnia is connected with the heart, kidneys, liver, lungs and spleen disharmony particularly with the heart, which houses the shen, or spirit. The TCM view is that the spirit cannot rest (over active), because there is heat in the heart, just like a car when the engine vibrates too much the mechanic has to tune it. The key is to use herbs to bring the organs into working harmony or in simple term to tune the engine

High blood pressure or hypertension means high pressure (tension) in the arteries. The arteries carry blood from the heart to all of the tissues and organs of the body. Normal blood pressure is 120/80 and a blood pressure of 140/90 or above is considered high blood pressure. The systolic blood pressure, the former number, represents the pressure in the arteries as the heart contracts and pumps blood into the arteries. The diastolic pressure, the latter number, represents the pressure in the arteries as the heart relaxes after the contraction.

An elevation of the systolic and/or diastolic blood pressure increases the risk of developing heart or kidney disease, hardening of the arteries, eye damage and stroke. Therefore it is important that hypertension be treated as soon as possible because it is a silent killer..

In TCM it is caused by weakness in the liver, irregularity in the blood and blockage in the blood arteries. Hypertension can be effectively control or treated. It has to be treated holistically. Do not just take drug to dilate your arteries and temporarily bring down the pressure. This is call masking or bluffing your body.

I’ve been having a really hard time getting to sleep recently. I was wondering if anyone had some tips to help me get to sleep faster.

Hello Johnny. I am presuming you are under 25; so a key here is to get a routine going that both your body and mind understand - and get in sync. Open up a diary of your goings on, stress, stimulants, emotional ups and downs, cell phone stress, gaming, partying. Do you really have sleep insomnia? Sleep disorders? Are you taking anything like melatonin for it?
On average, teens up to mid 20’s need about 8 to 9 hours of sleep each night. Problem is, missing sleep repeatedly affects every part of your life — from relationships with friends, to your ability to concentrate at school, to your mood. You do not mention anything about these from which we can build on to give you an informed answer.
I suggest you keep a diary for 30 days, then come back here with more info for more informed help.
In the meantime I suggest you visit the below site and read up on the blogs about insomnia. Easy reading and informative. Maybe you can then self diagnose?
However I do suggest that you follow a standard routine to avoid giving your mind surprises and do some detective work about what you do after 6pm every evening.

This guy learns a lesson about obsessing over life instead of getting some shuteye.

Please. I can’t sleep at night, and don’t wake up easily in the morning. The doctors have all diagnosed it as insomnia, and the pills and meds don’t work for me. anyone got anything? i need some advice, and herbs and stuff like that would probably work.

Insomnia’s kind of a bugger to treat, possibly because each of us has a unique set of causes and conditions. You’ll probably have to ‘trial and error’ your way to finding what works for you. Be very careful about taking any sort of supplement or medication, and try to talk about things like that with an MD; some drugs (whether ‘herbal’ or ‘medicinal’) can have interactive or side effects you might not want.
Anyway, some things that have worked at various times:
- regular exercise, not too late in the day. It doesn’t have to be a big workout; anything that involves arm-swinging is better, but any exercise is better than none.
- warm drinks when you wake up; chamomile tea is traditional, but even warm water is helpful. Avoid sugar; a tiny bit of honey may be OK.
- melatonin can be surprisingly helpful. Talk to your doctor first, though.
- a vaporizer to reduce the dryness of your bedroom can help, especially in winter.
- calm, repetitive music can help; I have used Baroque music mostly, but a fellow named Erik Satie wrote some pieces called Gymnopedies that helped me get through college.
- my younger son falls asleep to the Prairie Home Companion joke programs CD. Anything that relaxes you and occupies your mind so you don’t start worrying at bedtime is a good thing.
- similarly, reading a book you like, and arfe familiar with can help, as long as it’s not too exciting. familiarity and comfort are important.
- a small dinner of easily-digestible food can help, despecially if it’s warm stuff. No sugar, no acidic food or greasy stuff.
This may help you get started - see if you can find a sleep-disorder clinic near you; sometimes they can help you figure out the best approach for you. Good luck!

I currently can’t fall asleep….help? Anyone help?

Lately I have been having trouble sleeping. I tried exercising, drinking warm milk, eatting a light dinner, and even meditating. Nothing seems to help. Anyone know any good cures for insomnia?

DO NOT THINK OR WORRY ABOUT THE DAYS EVENT, OR ANY OTHER PRESSING MATTER, for you don’t even know if you will wake up 2marro.

Light diet, long walks and some time to work on an interest, hobby to relax your mind. There are times when I wake up at 12 and paint till 3 or 4 in the mornings, till I AM tired and sleepy.

Try to sleep at a time when you feel sleepy, I usally have problem sleeping, if i sleep later, if I am wide awake. This way you can get atleast some deep sleep even if it’s short.
